Interesting New Songs I Like

Standard

I went with one of my friends that is a ballroom dancer to her showcase last night. It’s where the dancers show their moves in an exhibition arena. It’s always fun and she does a wonderful job.  I have found that my favorite two dances are the Bolero and the Cha Cha.  I love to watch a sexy tango and Emmy certainly did one last night but the cha cha is such a happy step and the bolero is just so beautiful, I think they are my favorites at this moment.

One of the Boleros that Emmy danced to was a song called Moonshine Child. It is sung by Robben Ford and it’s an awesome blues song. It’s gonna be on the next sound track I do. I always prepare a playlist of songs that fit the current WIP.  This song is a tale of love lost so it’ll fit a romance novel- no matter what I decide to write since there is always the “Black Moment” when all seems lost.  One of the phrases in the song is if I could make you want me again..   So it would definitely fit.

The other song I heard that I loved is by Bitter:Sweet and is called The Mating Game.  They played it twice and I think one of the dances was a swing and the other was a samba. I could be dead wrong, but I enjoyed both the song and the dances.

You can listen to snippets of both on Amazon.com or can order each at I-Tunes for 99 cents. They’re great.  Enjoy!

I Can’t Help It: My Celeb Crush

Alan Rickman. He’s so versatile. He totally becomes his characters. He can do evil and he can do the lead. He has some great movies that are not in the mainstream but they are all awesome. Check out “Close My Eyes”, “Dark Harbor,” and “An Awfully Big Adventure” for a few.

He’s funny in interviews and he’s just one sexy guy-

In Those Final, Pre-Meteor Hours

Wednesday Night – Spinach Bleu Cheese Stuffed Chicken Parmesan – Summer Zucchini – Fresh Bread

If a meteor was going to destroy the Earth, I would call everyone I love and tell them so- by the time I got done, I’d be dead- and if not, I’d eat some amazing pasta as my last meal. And I would totally not eat the zucchini in this picture- blech!

NaNo Update

Standard

I’m up to 18,065 words now as of 7:40 pm CST on November 9, 2010. I have 31,935 words left to write and 21 days to do it in. That’s 1521 words a day. I can and will do this.

Getting ready to write the first love scene. Am starting Chapter Six. Wish me luck.

NaNoWriMo

Standard

got to 13,697 today on my NaNoWriMo novel. It’s a romantic suspense called Obsession. I had a hard time getting a handle on my female protagonist until I changed her name. Once I got the right name for her, she came together in my head much easier. This happened on another story, too.

It’s funny how my writing process works. I get the hero first. Always. His name and his back story come easy to me. Wonder why the women are so much harder for me? Guess it’s like real life. I have  male friends and female friends and the male ones are much easier to get a handle on. Simpler needs, I guess.  Life imitates art? I think so.

Have been in Neglect Mode

Standard

For some reason, I’ve been neglecting this blog this week. Seems like life has just gotten away from me. I’m doing NaNoWriMo and have been focusing on word count each night when I get home from the day job.  Also got blindsided by the evil ole’ Migraine demon.  It was a doozy.

I’ll try to do better and blog more often. I had a story come out today here:
