Working on Edits- The EIsenger Element
My second set of edits came in on my upcoming release, The Eisenger Element and I’m working through them. I’d forgotten how much I love these characters. The heroine, Emilia, is a smart-mouthed, sassy New Orleans cop from Algiers and she has a quirky side for sure. The hero, Lincoln Eisenger, is a lawyer who is trying to help his brother who has been wrongfully convicted of murder and is in Angola Prison.
It’s a fun story with lots of character, if I do say so myself. BUT how could it not since New Orleans is where it’s set. What a great city to place a story. There’s so much that can be done and so many unique individuals there that inspire me to really ramp up the characterizations. This tale has hookers, Garden District denizens, a Tarot card reader, a family of cops, and a mystery to solve as well.
Here’s the house I picture as the home of the hero. It’s a real home in the Garden District. Isn’t it lovely?

The Trade Paperback version will sell for $12.99
My story in the anthology is entitled: Not a Close Run Thing at All, which of course is a play on the famous misquote attributed to Arthur Wellesley, “a damn close-run thing” which really was “It has been a damned nice thing — the nearest run thing you ever saw in your life.”
Today we are fortunate to have with us Jillian Chantal who writes in both romance and mystery genres. Though we want to hear of his historical work in the Regency.
1) What moved you to become an author?
Like many, I’ve always been a natural story-teller. I can make pretty much…

New Release- Thanks for Giving
A Thanksgiving sweet romance celebrating bone marrow donation to save lives.
November 8th was the release day for this weekend read (Short story under 10,000 words) from my publisher, Sweet Cravings Publishing. This one is just long enough for you to have something to read while your holiday pie bakes. My heroine in this one gets interrupted in the process of baking her pies and would that we all had a hot guy at our door distracting us from baking, right?
This one is dear to my heart as I celebrate the gift of life that bone-marrow donors give. BUY LINK

Happy Anniversary to Me
30 years is a LONG time to love one job!
Yesterday, the 19th of October was thirty years since I took the oath of admission to the Florida Bar. I was twenty-three on that long-ago day and so excited to start on my journey to “Save the World” one client at a time. When I look back at the girl I was back then, I see someone who thought she was smart and savvy until the day she walked into a real courtroom for the first time to try a case and learned that people lie on the witness stand. They actually lie- actively and purposefully. I can remember how stunned I was at that revelation. It was a total blow to the solar-plexus. I quickly figured out I needed to factor that into my arsenal of skills and learn to cross-examine more aggressively and effectively.
I have been privileged to represent people from all over the spectrum of wealth…

Here There Be Witches
A cool shout out from Laurie Ryan for my new release! Thanks Laurie!!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but there’s a couple projects in my pipeline I’ll be talking about soon. In the meantime, I wanted to give a shout out to my friend, S. F. Chancellor, who has a new Young Adult story out. I haven’t read many witch stories, but this one, and the sassy heroine, Cali French, grabbed and held my attention. I was chuckling most of the way through as Cali struggles to come to terms with her powers while in the midst of crises. Add in one guardian angel trying to figure out how to handle his first assignment…Cali…and it’s a winner in my book!
What it’s about:
One chaotic week in October, former friends, a guardian angel, and a secret prophecy cause turmoil in the life of a teen-age witch-in-training.
Cali French, a high school senior, is cut out of her inner circle when she…
